optical/coaxial connection?
there is no sound produced when i try to connect my mediacom karaoke dvd player via coaxial/optical connection to my pioneer 5.1 (model DV514x) amp/receiver. what to do?
You will most likely need to be sure your DVD Player is set to use the Optical or Coaxial Digital Output, and that your Receiver is set to receive it. The easiest way to check if the DVD player is puting out a digital signal is to hook up the optical cable and look at the other end before puting it into the Receiver, and if you can see the red light, then your DVD is most likely sending out a signal, so you can go to your Receiver’s setup menu and activate the digital input on that particular input and you should be good to go.
