Projects Abroad Throw Christmas Party With a Difference in China
Assistant country manager Jess Doyle reports back from the Projects Abroad – China, Christmas party.
‘When in China do as the locals do! We certainly achieved this feat this Christmas by throwing all our volunteers a Christmas party with a difference. Never mind carol singers we created a few good tunes of our own by singing our hearts out at KTV Karaoke Club.
The night kicked off with a buffet dinner and once everyone was fed the fun really began. Alex bravely started our evening with some moral support from Jacqueline. Jacqueline is currently shadowing doctors at Renji Hospital and hopes to gain the necessary experience to boost her university application to study medicine.
But enough of the serious stuff, Alex certainly knows how to achieve of good balance between work and play. During the week he is hard at work at Shui On, a property development company working with the sales and marketing team on a new project. On the weekends he lets his hair down or grows it as the case may be!
While some volunteers strike a balance between work and play Anne Sophie knows how to mix the two perfectly together. Working for Quo magazine she recently met and interviewed The Backstreet Boys. Just guess what song she sang,… ‘Quit Playing Games’ by the Backstreet Boys’
As always our Projects Abroad nights out are about having fun and also meeting new friends. Petro Simon from our Cambodia office is in China on a week long visit to share ideas and get to know the rest of the Projects Abroad China office.
So who said karaoke wasn’t for Westerners, our volunteers and staff had a great night. In fact given a choice we would have carried on all night!! Ba Humbug to all you who are afraid to sing…MERRY CHRISTMAS!’
