Lookalike Replacement?
I was at a karaoke bar with my two best friends. My back was towards the bar; when my semi-ex walked in without speaking to me. We had a talk last week and he indicated that he was sorry; and didn’t mean to blow me off. Well my friends have been telling me to walk away from him; because he’s playing power games. Long story short; we were standing by the bathroom drinking and laughing, when my ex walked up and did a quick turn around. It was obivious that he felt pressure or scared. In as much; he later came by to use the bathroom again and give me a hug. Later on that night, he was sitting on some guys lap, stroking his legs.
1) Was he trying to make me feel jealous?
2) Should I be honored that the guy looked just like me?
3) Why is he with someone who looks like me; I mean in every since expect I’m a foot and half taller?
In addition, he’s previous ex’s didn’t look anything like me. They were of different nationalities.
I am sorry that you are going through this. I know exactly how you feel. They are always sorry, and are not really blowing us off, (and, not in a “good” way either!!) Seriously, I would like you to read a book. It’s called, “HE’S JUST NOT THAT IN TO YOU”.
There are two versions, one with life stories, and an abridged one, that gets right to the points at hand. Be prepared, though, it’s awfully matter of fact, and very harsh at times. It sounds to me that you, sadly, were dating the wrong person. And, he felt the same way, and didn’t have the courage to tell you so. Do you deserve an explaination? You bet! Will you ever get one, a truthful one? Most likely not. You have to be the one to respect YOU, (as he does NOT), and simply grieve, forgive him, and move on. This may be made even more difficult if he is parading in front of you. (Yes, it seems as if he was being a little dramatic…making sure you “noticed” him.) Always have manners and class. If he says hello, be polite, but keep it at that. Remember, that this is the man that who has pretty much vanished from your life, and let you know by his actions that you were no longer needed in his life. Point blank. Let him date who he wishes. You’ll set him free, and in doing so, you will also free yourself to be available, for some great guy who will fall for you, because of YOU, not because you look like his “ex”. Best wishes.
