My sound has gone high pitched…sorta like chipmunks?

All of a sudden the sound on my computer has gone really high pitched, i don’t think anybody has messed with it…
I was trying to find a solution on the internet when i came across a forum where it said to go to sound effects and change the karaoke setting…i couldn’t find that so if anybody could kindly point me in the right direction..
I just checked my driver and it says the one i have is totally up to date and working.
Anybody knows what the problem may be? Or a forum that i might be able to get more help with this?

it should be really easy. =) . just go to the bottom right hand corner of you screen- all the way to the right of your toolbar (assuming your toolbar is on the bottom of your screen). Then click on the little orange-redish icon of the speaker. Then click on the tab that says “Sound Effect.” Do you see the rather large icon that reads, “Karaoke”? It has a picture of a person singing on it. Click on the little down arrow underneath of it until you get to zero. Test it out on a song or any other audio sounds to see if it is right. And Violia! You’re done!
