Karaoke Kids Parties
My family and mother-in-law ignored my privacy and act like I have no life of mine, what can I do?
My MIL and my daughter is always a demand nusiance me to watch children and get angry when we say no. My MIL has custody of my step-son (the husband was in the active Army before we met and he could not take care of his son and his biological mother has not been in contact with a child of seven years now) and she still likes to party. The weekends are hers, as she proclaims so loud. But my husband and I like going out on weekends as well. She insists the fact that we take every weekend to her or she'll go to the court system and tell them that his father is neglected. My husband pays child support and do not pass time with his son. We go sometimes during the week and on Tuesday, she likes going to the Legion hall for parties and karaoke, requiring we give our plans so that it can take a break and get out. My daughter is more each day and brings her five boys in our little apartment with one bedroom and stays and stays, even after we asked him not to come more often. What can we do?
Gypsy, I'm just a little confused (Duh great!) Why MIL custody and not you? Is she a blood relative? Well, enough of the fact-finding expedition … It's sad for you, but good for the family they have someone to fall back upon maturity. I am also the receiver of all the grandchildren, bills that can not be paid advocacy for groceries, taxi service (I used to just hand over the keys until they knocked all vehicle they have borrowed) and shoulder to cry on. They take and take, but give so little, if anything. I know that my situation is stable, then I am the prime target for money, but as you suggested, when is enough enough? I have not reached the stage of extracting hair but there are times you're allowed to say "no" without excuse! Without guilt. Without the impact of pain and suffering. I hate to say this way, but sometimes it's just time to take care of # 1!
