How do I make my laptop into a karaoke machine?
Hey guys. I have a laptop with karafun software that I can use for karaoke. I just got an offer from a local bar to host karaoke there two nights a week and I would really love to do it, I could use the extra cash.
Right now I am just working off of my computer, with the words on the monitor, using the internal microphone and the internal speakers. That obviously will not work for a bar atmosphere.
What do I need to do and what equipment do I need to buy? Obviously I need cords to connect to two tvs and speakers… but I have no idea what kind. What about microphones so people can move around… preferably wireless? And is there anything else I am overlooking?

You are a long way from being ready to host karaoke at a bar.
Your computer must have a dual-display graphics card that allows you to display your workstation on the laptop while displaying the karaoke screen to the singers.
You will need professional karaoke hosting software. You can not use KaraFun.
You will need a complete professional sound system including a powered mixer, PA speakers, and wireless microphones. Also speaker stands and various cables.
You will need a large collection of karaoke music and song books. At least 10,000 song titles in all genres.
Be ready to invest into a serious sound system or be ready to be laughed out of the place.
