Karaoke Best Of 2009
Trip to Japan?
I am planning on taking a trip to Japan (Tokyo) during the summer of 2009, so I have a few questions:
-I graduate High school in 2009; the Summertime is the only time I will have free, so I am planning between June-August. When is the best time out of those three months?
-I am planning on staying for 6-10 days. Is this a good amount of time? Or should I stay longer?
-If I do stay for 6-10 days how much do you think that would cost…going off of your experience from staying in Tokyo.
-Do you know of any nice and affordable hotels in Tokyo, that are student friendly as far as cost wise?
-Lastly, do you know of any places that I should definitely see in Tokyo, and you can also mention crazy places like karaoke bars etc. nothing is out of question.
Oh, and I already know about Lonely Planet and all of those guide books, I just have not bought them yet.
& I plan on going with a friend if that helps.

Nice clean comfortable budget hotels in Tokyo are the Sakura Hotel in Jimboucho and the New Hotel Koyo in Minami-Senju.
Both hotels rent rooms for about $35-$40 per night. Be aware that these are budget hotels and therefore have common shower and bathroom facilities down the hall outside your room. These rooms are just big enough to hold a single size bed, a small locker and, if you are lucky, a fold-out table.
I don’t know if you included your return airfare in the price you are asking for, but in Dec. 2004 I went on a 6-day trip, which cost me approx. $1200 CDN, including everything.
Go to Shibuya for entertainment, Meiji Jingu near Shinjuku, Tokyo Tower, Akihabara for cheap electronics, Kabuki-za in Ginza, see live Sumo wrestling in Ryogukan, take an onsen bath in Oedo Onsen on Odaiba.(You can’t do this if you have tattoos, though). Asakusa temple, and Tsukiji Fish Market. (get up early, like 5 am).
About the season, June, July and August are usually the hot and humid season.
