Good Karaoke Songs For Altos
What is a good song for an alto/tenor?
I have a wide range, i can go up high or low. But i need a song for a karaoke contest that will really show off my voice. It can be fast or slow but it absolutely needs to be vocally athletic. If you can’t find one that’s alright but it would be awesome if it was. THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Namely, the area from 2:27 on….
I’d suggest Tim Buckley’s ‘Gypsy Woman’ (except you’re a woman) and ‘Blue Melody’, but you’d already have a hard time finding karaoke music for the Eva Cassidy song. Anyway, give ‘Gypsy Woman’ a listen – at 12:45 to the end for Tim Buckley’s hair-raising acrobatic solo.

‘Blue Melody’ is restrained in contrast, but very well controlled. I’m surprised there aren’t more covers of it, but I doubt anyone could touch this version.
You could try this, but I’m pretty sure men from the psychiatric ward would haul you off stage in a straight-jacket before you could complete the hysteric caterwauling….
Needless to say this is quite a vocal workout and one of the most fearless performances I’ve ever heard. I’m sure no one would appreciate hearing this open wound.
It’s amazing that track #3 is on the same album…
