Can we run a laptop through a cd player cube for karaoke?
We are looking to upgrade our karaoke and were wondering if we can use a laptop through one of the spare channels on our cd cube which we currently use to play the karaoke discs, I know a bit about computers but am getting a bit frazzled when everyone goes on about the different formats the music and graphics have to be in, are there any DJ’s out there who are using computerised equipment? if so please can we have some sound advice? The laptop will replace the karaoke disc player (I have no idea what a CD Cube is). You will rip all the songs from your CD+G discs to the compressed file format that will be stored on the hard drive.
Your laptop will need to have the extended desktop feature which will allow you to display your workstation on the laptop while displaying the karaoke on another monitor or TV.
You will need karaoke “hosting” software to play the song files and that has features like digital key control, automatic singer rotation, singer history, etc..
