Best Karaoke Ps3 Game
Will my PS2 Rock Band Plan work? (plan inside)?
My plan is to buy Rock Band for the Playstation 2, primarily for the drums section of the game, plus an alternative to Guitar Hero, and occanisionally as karaoke. But first I need to confirm some things:
Q1: Does the Playstation 2 version of the game use the same drums as the Playstation 3 version (could I buy the PS3 drums that come out in February and use them on the PS2 version and the PS3 version when I get a PS3)?
Q2: Does the Guitar Hero II Red Gibson SG Guitar Controller work with Rock Band?
Q3: Will one of the microphones from Singstar 80s work with Rock Band?
Q4: Do the drums use the controller port or a USB adapter (will I need to buy a USB adapter)?
Q5: Can you karaoke against each other (with 2 mics) or just compete for best score?
Any answer you can give for my question (especially Q1-Q4) are aprecciated.
I don’t own the PS2 or PS3 version of Rock Band, so most of this is guesswork from snippets I found online.
First of all, the PS2 version comes with a USB hub. You will be able to plug in the microphone and drums.
The PS3 doesn’t come with a USB hub, but it has two USB ports built in, so you don’t need a hub.
According to Wired blog, the guitar is wireless for both PS2 and PS3 is wireless. And you can use the same guitar for both games.

The drums are connected via USB port. And according to this Craigslist posting, the drums work for either version of the game:

No. The PS2 wired guitars don’t work on the PS3. First of all, there are no PS2 ports on the PS3. You would need an adapter. Not all adapters support the Guitar Hero controllers. Some do though, but they aren’t perfect.

However, I’m not 100% positive even that will work.

I’m pretty sure that is the case. It is just a USB microphone. Again, I’m not 100% sure though.
A4:
The drums use a USB port, but as I said ealier, a hub is included.
A5:
I believe there is something like this. However, I have only tried it with guitar (on the Xbox 360 version). I think it’ll work the same with singing.
