how to set up a karaoke system with my PA?
I’m throwing a new years eve party. I have a 12 channel Yamaha PA and 2 monitors, a few Shure SM 58 microphones, a 40″ samsung LCD and a DVD player. Can i buy a few karaoke discs and turn this into a karaoke rig for my party? or do I need to buy a machine from best buy to make this happen?
You can run the audio from the DVD player into the PA using a DI box if it does not have line level inputs.
You can run the microphones to the PA system.
There are regular Karaoke DVD’s that have the songs without the vocals and have the Lyrics Text. You can play them on the LCD and can use the mixer/amp for the PA to get the levels right.
