arirang 18s karaoke dvd player problems PLEASE HELP!!?

I bought the Arirang 18s Karaoke/ DVD Player from Vietnam. I had it for more than a year and as of lately it can not read my Karaoke CD. The player will play DVDs burn one and real one fine but when it comes to those MIDI files CD or the Karaoke CD it’s not loading and it’s saying “No Disc” I thought the problem was the karaoke cd was scratch but it plays fine in my friend arirang 18k player. I even borrow his Karaoke cd and put in my player I still get the “No Disc” message. The sound the player makes when it’s loading the Karaoke CD is the same sound that a DVD or CD drive from a desktop when it can’t read the dvd/cd. It starts and it stops and then starts and stops and then “no disc” error. I put in a DVD and it plays fine. I wonder could it be something wrong with the setting or it’s just a bad drive in the player. I open it up and clean the laser len but it still doesn’t work. Does anyone have the same problems?

This is a common problem in dvd/vcr combos and thin streamline small dvd players and certain brand dvd players and some karaoke/dvd players, what happens is internal heat isn’t disipated properly AND a bad processor, both of these combined means short life for the equipment that has these flaws. Sometimes, depending upon the circutry, they can be reprogrammed and they’ll last another year or two.
